A 7.5km guided walk along the banks of the Ōpāwaho Heathcote River, taking in five beautiful reserves (Ernle Clark Reserve, Purau Reserve, Hollis Reserve, Donkey Track and Farnley Reserve). Learn about how the local community has worked to restore these special spaces.

Learn about the ecological, cultural and historical 6km journey on the old towpath of the Ōpāwaho Heathcote River and Tannery. On the way there are several points of interest including old wharf sites, the cut and barrage and some great areas of planting and bank restoration.
